Google has announced NotebookLM Plus, the advanced version of its AI-powered research assistant, NotebookLM, which was recently named one of Time Magazine’s “Best Inventions of 2024.” Leveraging Google’s Gemini models, NotebookLM Plus offers cutting-edge tools designed to help individuals and organizations synthesize information more effectively.
What Is NotebookLM?
NotebookLM allows users to upload various source materials – Google Docs, PDFs, URLs, and more – and then:
- Ask questions: Users can query their uploaded content, with NotebookLM providing detailed, citation-backed answers.

Introducing NotebookLM Plus for Gemini Workspace Users
In response to rising demand, Google has unveiled NotebookLM Plus, available to Gemini for Google Workspace customers. It offers five times more usage capacity for notebooks, sources, and Audio Overviews, as well as customizable and shareable notebooks.
Farhan Qureshi, Country Director of Google Malaysia, highlighted the tool’s potential last week at the launch of Malaysia’s National AI Office (NAIO), introducing the AI at Work initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital. Local public sector organizations using Gemini for Google Workspace will now be able to access NotebookLM Plus to improve public service efficiency.
