Jobstreet Express, a division of Jobstreet by SEEK, is marking its first anniversary by transforming the semi-skilled hiring landscape in Singapore. Focused on roles such as waiters, cleaners, and customer service positions, the platform addresses critical workforce challenges with innovative tools like video screening and mobile-first solutions.
In 2024, Singapore’s semi-skilled labor market faced hurdles, with roles often remaining unfilled for over six months due to factors such as demanding conditions and low pay. Jobstreet Express has stepped in to bridge the gap by matching jobseekers with opportunities based on their skills and interests, enabling businesses to meet urgent hiring needs efficiently.
Between Q1 and Q3 of 2024, the platform saw retail industry job postings more than triple, reflecting its role as a trusted solution for high-demand, fast-turnover roles. The most applied-for and in-demand positions, such as Admin Clerks and Sales Promoters, highlight the platform’s capacity to adapt to market needs.
“As the backbone of many industries, semi-skilled roles are pivotal to Singapore’s economy, yet they remain one of the most underserved segments in hiring,” said Juairi Jaafar, General Manager of Jobstreet Express Singapore. “In our first year, we’ve connected businesses and job seekers with unmatched efficiency, and we remain dedicated to supporting these vital industries with innovative solutions.”
Jobstreet Express anticipates major shifts in the labor market, driven by advancements in technology, evolving skill demands, and government initiatives supporting lower-wage workers. The platform is committed to equipping both employers and jobseekers with the tools needed to navigate these changes, reinforcing its position as a leader in semi-skilled talent solutions.
