Even if many of us can’t afford cars in Singapore, thanks to the astronomical Certificate of Entitlement, there’s no stopping you from reading about and watching them. While Sgcarmart has been a trusted source of automotive reviews in Singapore, there are alternatives that can satisfy your thirst for car content.
Motorist
Motorist is a platform that “connects car owners with certified and genuine buyers” and offers digital tools to help car owners navigate their pain points. They also review cars to keep you informed about the latest offerings in the market. Their lighthearted approach to car reviews can bring a smile to your face from time to time. Just wondering if Prabhu will be back.
Carbuyers Singapore
A relatively new car review site, Carbuyers Singapore‘s primary business is acting as an intermediary for new and pre-owned cars. Although the hosts may not be as experienced as those on Sgcarmart and Motorist, they provide valuable perspectives, albeit with seemingly forced banter between them. Sadly, a couple of their hosts have left.
Tai Choo Yee
Tai is not a car selling platform but a YouTuber who spends a tremendous amount of hours reviewing cars. He’s from across the causeway in Malaysia and has racked up more than a quarter million subscribers. Although most of his takes come from a Malaysian perspective, the majority of the features he mentions don’t differ too much from what we get in Singapore.

MrChia SG
Not sure if it’s his real surname because “Chia” in Hokkien refers to cars, but MrChia SG does a great job sharing car features as detailed as possible with his viewers on YouTube. His smooth presentation and dad jokes add to the fun of watching his videos while soaking in the good, the bad, and the ugly of the car he’s reviewing.
Daren Yoong
No one knows an EV, especially a Tesla, like Daren Yoong does. He’s practically the face of EV reviews in Singapore. His detailed sharing on EV car features has won the likes of many, including myself. He is very relatable and shares key pain points, however minute, that we will encounter on the cars he reviews. This means he lays it bare for you to decide whether the car is for you or not.
