WhatsApp Calling Update: 3 Exciting New Features Rolling Out Soon

WhatsApp has been continuously enhancing its calling features since introducing them back in 2015. Here are the latest upgrades set to roll out over the next few weeks:

  1. Screen Sharing with Audio
You can now share your screen with audio, making it perfect for watching videos together with friends or family.
  2. More Participants
Need to get everyone on a call? You can now host video calls with up to 32 participants across all your devices.
  3. Speaker Spotlight
Easily keep track of conversations with the new speaker spotlight feature, which automatically highlights and brings the active speaker to the forefront.

WhatsApp isn’t just stopping there. They are continuously working on improving audio and video quality for clearer calls, no matter where you are. They’ve recently launched the MLow codec, which enhances call reliability, improves noise and echo cancellation on mobile devices, and offers higher video resolution for those with faster connections. Even if you’re on an older device or have poor network connectivity, you can expect crisper audio quality.
