Australia – Darktrace, a global leader in cybersecurity AI, has unveiled its new service, Darktrace Managed Detection & Response (MDR). Announced on 7 June 2024, this service integrates Darktrace’s top-tier detection and response capabilities with the expertise of its global analyst team. The service is designed to augment internal security teams by providing AI-powered threat containment and expert alert management, allowing these teams to focus on strategic security efforts such as improving cyber resilience.
According to the Darktrace State of AI Cybersecurity 2024 report, over 40% of security leaders prioritize enhancing and optimizing technology and processes in the security operations center (SOC) to combat the rise of AI-powered threats. Darktrace’s new MDR service, launched in March 2024, aims to meet this demand by empowering customers to maximize the benefits of human-AI collaboration. The service offers 24/7 managed detection and response, including SOC investigation and action on Darktrace alerts across network, cloud, operational technology (OT), endpoints, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications.
“With MDR, our SOC team monitors customer environments for high-priority alerts indicative of an attack, conducts investigations, and initiates triage with human engagement on AI’s actions,” said Denise Walter, Chief Revenue Officer at Darktrace. “Our AI-powered MDR service gives our customers added peace of mind, knowing that a Darktrace human expert is monitoring their environment 24/7 to keep them protected.”

Darktrace’s existing global SOC team, consisting of over 100 cybersecurity analysts, supports the service. Utilizing a follow-the-sun model with operations in the United Kingdom, United States, and Singapore, the team ensures around-the-clock support.
