Qualcomm Expands AI Hub to Snapdragon X Series at Microsoft Build 2024

At the recent Microsoft Build 2024, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has announced the expansion of its Qualcomm AI Hub to support Snapdragon X Series Platforms, significantly reducing time-to-market for developers and enhancing on-device generative AI capabilities in next-generation Windows PCs.

This expansion allows developers to bring and optimize their own AI models directly on devices, providing substantial benefits such as enhanced responsiveness, improved privacy, and more personalized user experiences. “With support for Snapdragon X Series Platforms in the Qualcomm AI Hub, we are providing developers with the flexibility and power to create innovative AI applications for next-generation Windows PCs,” stated Durga Malladi, senior vice president and general manager of technology planning and edge solutions at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

The Qualcomm AI Hub serves as a comprehensive resource for developers, offering tools and services to enable superior on-device AI performance. It features a growing library of over 100 pre-optimized AI models available on platforms such as Hugging Face and GitHub. The new “Bring Your Own Model” (BYOM) feature allows developers to upload, optimize, and compile their models specifically for Snapdragon and Qualcomm platforms, supporting key frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and ONNX. This streamlines the model optimization and verification process, enabling faster development and deployment cycles.

Leading global PC manufacturers, including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung, are set to launch PCs powered by Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus Compute Platforms. These advancements will empower developers to leverage the Qualcomm AI Hub for creating superior user experiences on new-generation devices.

The Snapdragon X Series Platforms support a wide range of AI development tools, thanks to integrations with ONNX Runtime, Hugging Face Optimum, and Llama.cpp. Developers can run thousands of models and build rich AI-powered Windows applications. An online course by DeepLearning.AI, in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, offers further insights into on-device AI implementation for developers.
