Apple has introduced the new iPad Pro, boasting significant enhancements in display technology and processing power, aimed at setting new benchmarks for tablets. Available in both 11-inch and 13-inch models, this latest iteration of the iPad Pro features the thinnest design ever in Apple’s product line, with the larger model measuring just 5.1 mm in thickness.
Introducing M4 Chip
The new iPad Pro is powered by Apple’s M4 chip, which represents the latest advancement in Apple’s silicon efforts. Built on a second-generation 3-nanometre technology, the M4 chip enhances performance efficiency, crucial for the device’s thinner and lighter design. The chip offers up to 1.5 times faster CPU performance compared to the M2 chip found in previous models, alongside a 10-core GPU that introduces hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing for the first time on an iPad.

However, the star of the show may well be the Ultra Retina XDR display, which employs tandem OLED technology to deliver exceptional brightness and contrast. This new display can achieve 1000 nits of full-screen brightness and 1600 nits peak brightness for HDR content, making it the most advanced display on a portable device.
For professionals and creatives, this means more accurate color representation and greater detail in both bright and shadowy parts of an image, essential for high-end, color-managed workflows. The iPad Pro also introduces nano-texture glass as an option for reduced glare, catering to users working in challenging lighting conditions.
The versatility of the new iPad Pro is further augmented by the introduction of the Apple Pencil Pro, which includes new interactive features like pressure sensitivity and haptic feedback, and a redesigned Magic Keyboard with an aluminum palm rest and haptic touchpad.

Connectivity also receives a boost with support for Wi-Fi 6E and 5G on cellular models, along with Thunderbolt 3 and USB 4 compatibility, which allows for the connection of high-performance accessories and external displays.
Availability and Price
Scheduled to be available in stores starting 15 May, the new iPad Pro models are priced starting at S$1,499 for the 11-inch model and S$1,999 for the 13-inch model. The launch is also aligned with Apple’s environmental commitments, featuring 100% recycled aluminum enclosures and the elimination of plastic in its packaging.
