SG Government Agencies Partner Google Cloud to Enhance National AI Strategy

The Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI), Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), Smart Nation Group (SNG), Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), and Google Cloud announce collaborative initiatives to boost AI adoption, support startups, and nurture AI talent in line with Singapore’s National AI Strategy (NAIS 2.0). This includes the unveiling of AI Trailblazers 2.0, Google for Startups Accelerator, and an extension of 3,000 Google Career Certificates scholarships.

  • The AI Trailblazers initiative has successfully addressed over 100 generative AI use cases from 84 organizations across government and industry.
  • 43 organizations, including People’s Association, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Nanyang Polytechnic, GSK, Temus, and TDCX, showcased their own gen AI solutions developed through the initiative.
  • AI Trailblazers 2.0 is announced to help up to 150 more organizations rapidly build gen AI solutions with enhanced Innovation Sandboxes and support from Google Cloud engineers.
  • Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First Singapore is launched to nurture 100 AI startups over the next three years, providing resources, mentorship, and access to Google Cloud credits.
  • Google is extending 3,000 additional Google Career Certificate scholarships, focusing on upskilling mid-career professionals in high-growth fields like Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and IT Support.
  • The scholarships, part of the Skills Ignition SG program, contribute to the government’s goal of tripling local AI practitioners to 15,000 in the next three to five years.
