Dell Technologies is entering into a strategic collaboration with Meta to facilitate seamless on-premises deployment of Meta’s Llama 2 models, leveraging Dell’s generative AI (GenAI) portfolio encompassing IT infrastructure, client devices, and professional services.

Recognizing the significance of on-premises solutions for generative AI deployments, driven by considerations such as data privacy, security of intellectual property, and the impact of data gravity, Chris Kelly, Senior Vice President, Data Center Sales, Asia Pacific and Japan, Dell Technologies, highlighted the collaboration’s ability to accelerate digital transformation. He stated, “The integration of Meta’s Llama 2 models into Dell’s generative AI portfolio will help organisations accelerate their digital transformation, enhancing how they engage with customers, employees and the market more broadly to turn valuable insights into action.”

The collaboration simplifies the on-premises AI landscape by combining Dell’s leading infrastructure portfolio with Meta’s Llama 2 family of AI models. Customers can drive their GenAI initiatives either in a traditional data center or at edge locations, taking advantage of Dell’s system sizing tools that have integrated Meta’s Llama 2 models to guide customers towards the most suitable solutions for their AI endeavors.
