hacksingapore, the national hackathon organized by AngelHack and supported by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), brings together developers, designers, and entrepreneurs to tackle thematic problems through technology innovation.
Trust Bank, a sponsor of the Financial Inclusion theme at hacksingapore 2023, seized the opportunity to support Singapore’s tech entrepreneurs and explore ways to improve digital financial services. The event showcased a range of impressive projects, including solutions to eliminate paper receipts in retail transactions and gamify healthy saving habits through social media.
Trust Bank actively engaged in the hackathon, with their Chief Technology Officer, Srinivas Patil, delivering a keynote address, and colleagues from various teams mentoring and conducting workshops to help participants refine their solutions. The collaboration provided an opportunity for Trust Bank to gain fresh ideas, connect with passionate individuals, and broaden their horizons.

The Financial Inclusion winners of the hackathon were the team from XIOHOO, who developed an AI-powered fraud detection solution. Addressing the problem of increasing consumer confidence in using digital financial services, XIOHOO created a one-stop repository that helps users identify and report scams while recommending legitimate online deals using AI and big data.
XIOHOO, a social enterprise founded in 2018, aims to bridge the digital divide and help seniors navigate the world of technology through practical and affordable tech classes. The team will continue refining their solution and plans to make it available to others they work with in the near future.

Trust Bank commended the participants of hacksingapore for their enthusiasm and out-of-the-box thinking. They expressed their support and anticipation for how the ideas and talent showcased at the event will drive change in the Singapore tech community.
