Xiaomi, in collaboration with Leica, has launched their latest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, in Singapore. This device showcases the cutting-edge advancements in mobile imaging technology, providing users with an exceptional professional camera experience combined with premium performance and a classic design.
The highlight of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is its quad camera system, featuring a main camera equipped with a 1-inch sensor and variable aperture, developed in partnership with renowned camera manufacturer Leica. This collaboration has resulted in the integration of Leica’s expertise in optics and imaging into the smartphone, delivering outstanding image quality and versatility. The camera setup covers a wide range of focal lengths, including ultra-wide angle, wide-angle, telephoto, and super-telephoto, allowing users to capture a variety of subjects with ease.
To showcase the capabilities of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s camera, Leica Photographer and Ambassador, Adele Chan, collaborated with Xiaomi for a series of photos capturing Singapore’s iconic landmarks, streets, and local culture. These images, shot and edited entirely on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, demonstrate the device’s exceptional imaging capabilities and will be shared on social media platforms.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra incorporates Leica’s Summicron lens technology into its optical system, offering compact size, large aperture, high imaging performance, reliability, and durability. The lens features an ultra high-order polynomial design, achieving precision at a nanometer level and reducing glare and ghosting through multi-layer coating. The Leica optics provide stable performance even in extreme temperature conditions.

The device’s 1-inch IMX989 sensor and physical two-stop aperture switching offer content creators more control over their exposures in different scenarios. Additionally, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra introduces a Fast Shot mode inspired by the “hyperfocal distance” shooting method, enabling users to capture focus-free snapshots in just 0.8 seconds.
In terms of color reproduction and accuracy, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra boasts a pro-grade WQHD+ display with excellent color calibration, achieving up to 2600 nits peak brightness. The display is calibrated according to the new CIE 2015 colorimetry, ensuring accurate and consistent color presentation across various Xiaomi devices.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra supports Dolby Vision®, delivering vibrant colors, exceptional contrast, and brightness. Users can enjoy a panoramic view of rich details in both dark and bright areas. The device also allows users to share their creative content in user-generated content (UGC) communities that support Dolby Vision®.
Powering the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is the latest Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 flagship processor, offering superior performance and energy efficiency. The smartphone supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS4.0 storage. It also features Xiaomi’s self-developed Loop LiquidCool technology, which utilizes an aerospace-grade large toroidal cooling system to enhance heat dissipation, enabling stable 4K 60fps video recording without frame rate drops.
To ensure an extended battery life, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra incorporates the Xiaomi Surge P2 Charging Chip and Xiaomi Surge G1 Battery Management Chip. These technologies, combined with a 5,000mAh battery, enable the smartphone to estimate battery life accurately and provide additional standby time through the Hibernation mode.
