Appdome and Bitrise Collaborate to Enhance Mobile App Security for DevOps Pipelines

Appdome’s Cyber Defense Automation platform integrates seamlessly with Bitrise’s Mobile DevOps platform to deliver enhanced security for mobile app development.

Appdome, the leading Cyber Defense Automation platform for the mobile app economy, has unveiled a pre-built plugin integration with Bitrise, a widely used Mobile DevOps platform. With over 6,000 businesses relying on Bitrise to maximize the impact of their mobile apps, this collaboration aims to empower mobile developers with advanced in-app defenses and Appdome’s Certified Secure™ DevSecOps certification seamlessly within the Bitrise environment. The new integration, known as a Bitrise Step, will significantly accelerate the delivery of secure mobile apps globally.

The CEO of Bitrise, Barnabas Birmacher, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “To fulfill our vision of becoming a comprehensive solution for every aspect of Mobile DevOps, we have joined forces with industry-leading technologies like Appdome to automate manual tasks and enable companies to build, test, and deploy their apps at scale. Appdome’s approach to integrating app security into the Mobile DevOps pipeline is a fundamental component in achieving these goals and is a highly valuable addition to the Bitrise Step Library.”

Bitrise’s Mobile DevOps platform currently facilitates over 2 million builds per month, automating critical processes in the app development lifecycle. By integrating Appdome’s cyber defense automation platform into the CI/CD pipeline, mobile developers can now enjoy fully automated, no-code, no-SDK mobile app security, including anti-fraud measures, anti-malware solutions, mobile anti-bot capabilities, RASP (Runtime Application Self-Protection), encryption, man-in-the-middle attack prevention, and other essential protections for both Android and iOS apps. Moreover, Appdome’s ThreatScope™ XDR solution provides real-time monitoring of mobile app attacks and defense ROI for joint customers.

Karen Hsu, SVP of Mobile DevOps and Security Solutions at Appdome, emphasized the cultural and technological significance of Mobile DevOps, stating, “Like Bitrise, we believe that Mobile DevOps is a culture and a set of technologies. This partnership adds automated mobile app protection to the Bitrise CI/CD pipeline and integrates real-time attack monitoring into the feedback loop for all developers.”

In an era where global consumers increasingly demand robust protection in their mobile app experiences, Appdome’s recent Global Consumer Expectations of Mobile App Security survey highlighted that 94% of consumers worldwide would endorse a brand if its mobile apps effectively shielded them from security threats, fraud, and malware risks. Conversely, 68% of respondents indicated they would abandon brands that failed to provide adequate protection.

Jamie Bertasi, Chief Customer Officer at Appdome, stressed the urgency of integrating cyber defense automation with attack intelligence within the mobile DevOps and CI/CD pipeline. Bertasi explained, “The pace of malicious innovation, including new tools to hack mobile apps, new malware, and other attacks, is growing too rapidly to rely solely on manual efforts. Mobile brands must combine cyber defense automation with attack intelligence within the mobile DevOps and CI/CD pipeline to ensure the safety of customers and businesses.”
