Canon unveils PowerShot V10, a pocketable video-centric camera for smartphone natives

Canon has introduced a new concept camera, the PowerShot V10, designed for smartphone users seeking to elevate their content creation game. With a sleek, ergonomic design and advanced imaging technologies, the V10 marries portability with high-quality footage.

According to Edwin Teoh, Head of Marketing for Singapore Operations at Canon Singapore, “The PowerShot V10 embodies Canon’s spirit of innovation, redefining traditional imaging devices to meet the ever-changing needs of consumers. With the rise in popularity of short-form content, and the demand for better output, Canon developed the PowerShot V10 to help users elevate their content quality.”

Despite its petite 9cm-long body, the PowerShot V10 boasts an integrated retractable, tiltable stand for tripod-like support and a built-in large-diameter three-element microphone that cancels noise and produces clear, high-quality audio. The camera also features various shooting modes, including auto and manual exposure, and up to 14 colour filters.

With Canon’s EOS imaging technology, the PowerShot V10 delivers stunning, low-noise footage with vivid colours, even in low-light venues. The camera’s wide angle-of-view lens lets users record themselves with friends and the background behind them, all from a natural, non-outstretched arm position.

Livestreaming is made easy with the PowerShot V10, which supports real-time delivery methods such as livestreaming directly to Facebook or YouTube via the Camera Connect app. The camera can also be used as a webcam via the plug-and-play USB-C connection.

The PowerShot V10 will be available at Canon authorized dealers from 15 June 2023, priced at $609. With its powerful features and pocketable design, the PowerShot V10 is an essential 3-in-1 content creation kit for travel vlogging, cinematography experiments, and more.
