Singapore’s LTA Calls for Tender for 400 Electric Buses

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore has called for a tender for 400 electric buses in the largest purchase of its kind by LTA. This move is part of Singapore’s efforts to move towards a more sustainable and green future.

Electric buses have many benefits over traditional diesel buses. They produce zero emissions, which helps to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They are also quieter and smoother to ride on, providing a more comfortable experience for passengers.

The LTA has been working towards introducing more electric buses into Singapore’s public transport system. In 2018, the LTA announced that it would be purchasing 60 electric buses, which were introduced into service in 2020.

The new tender for 400 electric buses is a significant step towards achieving Singapore’s goal of having a 100% cleaner energy public bus fleet by 2040. This will help to reduce Singapore’s carbon footprint and contribute to the global fight against climate change.
