Gevme and WeMeet Partnership Brings Seamless Event Experience to WeChat Users

Gevme, the leading event technology platform based in Singapore, has teamed up with WeMeet, a leader in smart travel and smart events in China, to provide a seamless event experience to WeChat users via MeetSG’s mini program for business travelers. This partnership aims to integrate a native event registration experience, enabling event organizers worldwide to list their events and build a stronger presence within the WeChat ecosystem.

With over 1.3 billion active users, WeChat is one of the most popular apps in the world and is deeply integrated into the lives of users, allowing them to connect with friends and family, stay up-to-date on the latest news, engage with their favorite brands, and pay for a wide range of goods and services. The introduction of mini-programs within WeChat has allowed the platform to host numerous services natively within the app, providing greater convenience to its users and a massive opportunity for businesses to tap into the WeChat network to reach and interact with their target audience.

The partnership between Gevme and WeMeet will see the integration of a native event registration experience, which will allow event organizers worldwide to list their events on the WeChat platform. This move will provide event organizers with the opportunity to build a stronger presence within the WeChat ecosystem, connecting them to incoming travelers and providing the latter with better event experiences.

According to Veemal Gungadin, CEO of Gevme, “There are over 1.3 billion WeChat users around the world, and this partnership with WeMeet is opening up that audience to an enhanced event experience through Gevme. As more business travelers from China resume their travel plans, the integration of Gevme into MeetSG on the WeChat platform will help organizers and brands directly engage with such a wide pool of people, empowering them to go where their audiences are to promote their events while equipping them with easy-to-use tools to continue creating a unique digital experience within the platform.”

With the reopening of China, the event and travel industry is expected to boom once again, and the “revenge travel” of Chinese travelers is expected to exceed pre-Covid numbers when they accounted for 155 million international travelers. WeMeet’s exclusive Singaporean mini-program for those in and traveling to the city-state, MeetSG, has already been trialed at past events such as the Singapore Fintech Festival 2022 and will be used in upcoming events such as the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Parts Conference.

“Partnering with Gevme, we can now revolutionize the business event and travel experience in Singapore and around the world. Together, our solution will open the doors to a seamless experience for all users, allowing them to register and perform one-touch interactions with other attendees and exhibitors while allowing the event experience to remain consistent and cohesive across all other event channels,” says Gu Xuebin, Founder & CEO of WeMeet.

With this partnership, Gevme and WeMeet are set to provide a seamless event experience to WeChat users, offering event organizers worldwide an opportunity to build a stronger presence within the WeChat ecosystem and connect with incoming travelers to provide them with better event experiences.
