Tech Data, a subsidiary of TD SYNNEX, has announced that it will be further deepening its long-standing strategic partnership with Cloudera, a hybrid data company, in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. The partnership aims to empower businesses to transform complex data into clear and actionable insights with Cloudera’s hybrid data platform.
Through this partnership, Tech Data plans to leverage Cloudera’s real-time insights capabilities to enable businesses to address data in motion gaps and securely manage their entire data lifecycle with greater flexibility from the Edge to AI. The alliance will help enterprises expand their data business opportunities in the region, providing robust real-time insights, efficient management of data lifecycles, and capabilities to tackle any data in motion gaps. Edge computing is expected to be a USD 208 billion business by 2023, and with the rise of edge computing, enterprises require unified platforms for ease of functioning.
Traditional analytic solutions used by enterprises have certain limitations such as an inability to scale as data increases, making it difficult for businesses to address immediate customer needs in a timely manner, or to accurately offer promotions due to an inability to continuously monitor customer interactions. The partnership between Tech Data and Cloudera aims to overcome these limitations by offering more real-time visibility to business stakeholders, enabling faster data-driven decisions, and allowing for data to be moved at scale across any environment securely.
Cloudera’s Data-In-Motion offering will provide two core services – DataFlow, which enables developers to connect any data source anywhere with any structure, process it, and deliver it to any destination using a low-code authoring experience, and Stream Processing, a complete, enterprise-grade stream management and stateful processing solution. Additionally, Cloudera Data Platform’s SDX (Shared Data Experience) offers businesses an integrated set of security and governance technologies built on metadata to secure, monitor, and govern their data consistently.
Remus Lim, Vice President, Asia Pacific and Japan, Cloudera, said that businesses want more real-time visibility to derive insights to make faster data-driven decisions. Tech Data, as a distributor, can better tailor these solutions for businesses given its strong expertise in solutions aggregation. Its Centre of Excellence (CoE), bolstered by dedicated local teams, will play a key role in supporting the partner network to conceptualize solutions, and conduct discovery and POC.
This partnership aims to help businesses overcome limitations posed by traditional analytic solutions and harness data in motion to gain control of and leverage data as a strategic asset. By providing enterprises with the tools and technologies they need to transform complex data into clear and actionable insights, Tech Data and Cloudera aim to empower businesses to make more informed decisions and expand their data business opportunities in the APJ region.
