Snap Appoints Jinjun Cai to Lead OEM Business Development & Partnerships 

Snap Inc. establishes presence in Southeast Asia with office in Singapore

Snap has announced the appointment of Jinjun Cai to the role of Head of OEM Partnerships, focusing on China-based original equipment manufacturer (OEM) where he will lead the efforts in developing and driving Snap’s OEM partner strategy. Based in Singapore, he will be building and executing global business development and partnerships to further advance Snap’s collaboration and innovation. Jinjun joins Snap’s newly formed OEM Partnerships team, where he is the first hire on the team outside of the United States.

On the appointment, Juan David Borrero, Director, OEM Partnerships said, “APAC is an important region for Snap, with many of the company’s largest and key partners based here. Given his experienced background in business development and partnerships, Jinjun is an outstanding appointment to our growing team. We look forward to having Jinjun drive the region’s strategic OEM relationships forward to share the power of Snap’s augmented reality technology around the world.”

To date, Snap has secured various partnerships with major smartphone companies, including Google, Vivo, Oppo, Samsung and Huawei, to name a few. Besides the work on preloads and performance, the OEM Partnerships team has also been focused in integrating some of the OEMs’ advanced camera features into Snapchat and continuing the work to bring innovative features to its users around the world.

I look forward to deepening the company’s relationships with key partners and furthering Snap’s vision of transforming the Snapchat camera to bring immersive experiences to our users.”

Jinjun brings with him over 14 years of professional experience in several strategic business and development roles across IT and tech companies. Prior to joining Snap, Jinjun spent two years at Twitter, where he was the Head of Business Development and Product Partnership in Asia Pacific.
