SINGAPORE – 20 October 2020 – Rackspace Technology has announced a significant expansion of its Singapore operations, as part of its continuing heavy investment in growing its footprint in Asia Pacific and Japan. The move follows its IPO in August this year, and will enable the company to meet the growing demand for innovative Cloud solutions from businesses in the region, as well as better serve its existing customers.

The company has opened a new 4,876-square-foot office space at One Raffles Place in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District, increasing the size of its office by more than four times. Rackspace Technology is also anticipating an overall 25 percent increase this year in headcount in the Singapore office, which will act as a base for expansion into multiple ASEAN markets. This will enable the development of deeper relationships with its customers locally, while delivering a flawless customer experience, unrivalled expertise and collaboration from across its global business.

As organisations deal with business challenges in the current economic climate, the need for them to digitalise has become imperative. Moving to the Cloud gives businesses greater efficiency and productivity in the face of the changes that we are experiencing on the economic and social fronts. This is particularly important at a time when organisations are looking at cost optimisation in response to budget pressures. To do this well, they need an experienced partner with the expertise to deliver unbiased but deeply knowledgeable advice to guide their digital transformation journey.

Leading players in the local economy, from the retail, education and technology sectors, have already partnered with Rackspace Technology to enhance their legacy IT solutions and get ahead of the competition.

The investment in expanding their operations responds to Rackspace Technology’s established success in these regions, as well as the prospects for market growth. It also reflects the continuing growth of Rackspace Technology’s alliance partners, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Dell, VMware and Cloudflare.

“Together with our key Cloud partners — AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure — we’re committed to helping local businesses flourish by leveraging the power of the Cloud in Singapore, “said Sandeep Bhargava, Rackspace Technology’s Managing Director for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ). “The greatest challenges organisations will face are associated with how prepared they are to deal with remote working initiatives as well as to take advantage of the smart nation programmes being rolled out in the region.

“A Cloud-first strategy has become the foundation that enables businesses to transform, differentiate and gain competitive advantage. More than ever, businesses need help to benefit from greater operational simplicity, better support, reduced costs and improved security, “said Bhargava.

“In Singapore’s thriving digital economy, companies are adopting cloud rapidly. Cost-optimisation and access to advanced security and analytics features are the key driving factors for this adoption. Through Rackspace’s unique service-blocks offering, organisations are able to leverage the power and rapid scalability of leading cloud technologies without having to recruit and train talent in order to operate these technologies effectively,” said Bernard L’Allier, Managing Director of South East Asia, Rackspace Technology.
