SINGAPORE, 15 September 2020 – Canon has launched its latest wireless mini projector, the MP250. The compact and powerful mini-projector can cast giant 93-inch images onto any flat-surfaced wall from 3 metres away. This makes it ideal for families looking to screen movies at home, presentations in small offices and mobile professionals who are required to conduct presentations while on the go.
While cinemas have reopened with strict safe distancing measures, some moviegoers remain cautious about heading out just to watch a movie. With the MP250 mini projector, families can now emulate the cinema experience and enjoy screening shows in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
By connecting to the mini projector through various methods such as via HDMI or screen mirroring for Android phones and tablets, users can simply project their favourite movies and shows on a flat-surfaced wall with just a few taps on their device. Adjusting the distance between the mini projector and the wall allows users to increase the size of the projected image, thus giving the large-screen cinema experience to families at home. This is made possible due to the mini projector’s ultra-portable size and its outstanding image processing capability.
Edwin Teoh, Head of Marketing, Singapore Operations, Canon Singapore said, “The latest MP250 reinvents new possibilities in the realms of home entertainment and mobile office. Its compactness, portability and strong features offer versatility in various settings. Be it creating a cinematic home theatre, delivering professional presentation on the go, or used as retail display, the MP250 is poised to deliver the optimum experience with minimal and fuss-free set-up.”
Outstanding Image Processing Capability
The MP250 is powered by a quad-core 1.5GHZ processor and 2GB of SDRAM, deftly handling even 4K video input sources easily. The mini projector delivers up to 250 lumens of brightness, making it equally adept in a home cinema mode or in a small meeting room setup.
Compact, Lightweight and Ultra-Portable
The MP250 does not sacrifice on portability despite its high-level performance. At just 407g, the ultra-compact MP250 encloses a built-in rechargeable battery that supplies up to two hours of video playback[1] even at 250 lumens brightness. For long movies or presentations, powering the mini projector with the bundled AC adaptor provides hours of uninterrupted operation.
Automatic Keystone Correction to Fix Skewed Images Quickly
With auto vertical keystone correction and auto image rotation, setting up the MP250 is fast and easy. The built-in base stand allows the device to project at up to a 40° angle on a flat office desk, while a built-in 1/4″ tripod mount ensures compatibility with different tripod stands to achieve the perfect height and setup. The automatic keystone correction ensures that images, movies and documents projected will not be skewed in any way.
Built-in Touchpad with 2-finger Gesture Support
The large touchpad supports precise cursor navigation and virtual keyboard entry. With 2-finger gesture inputs such as pinch-to-zoom and speed scrolling, it makes quick navigation of long menus and websites possible without the use of external input devices. The use of external input peripherals like keyboards and mice are also supported via USB or Bluetooth connection.
Multiple Connectivity Options for All Your Devices
With a built-in web browser, videos can be streamed directly over the Internet, while users of Android phones or tablets[2] can mirror their screens and share holiday snapshots from albums, videos, and other multimedia content. With 4GB of built-in device memory, users can also store videos, photos, and office documents such as Word, PowerPoint and PDF files for standalone device playback.
Standard HDMI, USB-A port and a Micro SD card slot complete the generous range of connectivity options available on the device, while dual band wireless support ensures the MP250’s suitability for all home and work environments, fulfilling all portable wireless projection needs.
Pricing and Availability
The MP250 is now available at the recommended retail price of $699 on Canon eShop and from selected Challenger outlets.
