TIBCO Software Inc., a global leader in integration, API management, and analytics, today announced its plans to collaborate with International Francophone Institute (IFI) in its commitment to expand the data analytics capabilities and knowledge of the students in Vietnam. Founded in 1993, IFI launched its first master programs in IT in 1995 and is today highly prestigious in the French-speaking community (Francophonie). IFI is the most internationalised higher institution in Vietnam, with 90% of its students coming from dozens of countries outside Vietnam.

The collaboration aims to support the students from the Institute for Informatics Faculty of Computer Science by providing practice-based training to understand data analytics, as well as provide the foundation to equip them with the skills necessary to support the country’s push towards digital transformation. As organisations in Vietnam undergo industrialization and radical transformation, technology is rapidly changing the way organisations operate. Cloud, artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics are becoming more broadly recognised digital skill sets needed in the workforce.

“The need for skilled data scientists is seen across Southeast Asia, as digital transformation and boosting the digital economy are taking centre stage. We are excited to collaborate with IFI to play a role in providing the students with the necessary expertise to support the critical and current need for industry-relevant talents in Vietnam,” said Melissa Ries, general manager, Asia Pacific and Japan, TIBCO. “Through this partnership, IFI can leverage our expertise and innovative solutions to provide a holistic curriculum for their students, ultimately equipping them with the relevant skill sets to help address the digital skills gap in Vietnam.”

“IFI has always been open to collaborations that provide our students with more extensive ways of enhancing our curriculum. We are delighted to have this opportunity to collaborate with an industry expert such as TIBCO, helping us fulfil our promise of high-quality education for our students,” said Dr Ngo Tu Lap, IFI Director. “This will definitely prepare them with the right skill sets needed to be employed in the digital workforce.”

Both parties aim to provide students with hands-on opportunities to practice concepts using selected TIBCO tools to deepen their knowledge in advanced data analytics. There will also be opportunities for students to learn through guest lectures, seminars, networking sessions, and relevant training modules with industry experts.

Apart from the partnership with IFI, TIBCO has also collaborated with key universities across Southeast Asia, including universities in Singapore and Taiwan.
