PayNow with Scoot | Tech Coffee House

The next time you book a flight with Scoot, try using PayNow to complete the transaction. That’s right!

Made possible with its collaboration with UOB, Scoot will now allow it’s customers to use PayNow as an alternative payment mode, aside from credit card or AXS, to pay for their flight bookings.

To use PayNow to pay for a flight, simply select the payment option, ‘PayNow’, on the FlyScoot.com payment checkout page, where a QR code will be generated on the screen. Scan the QR code through your mobile banking app of any PayNow participating bank and confirm your payment to complete the transaction.

You will receive a confirmation of payment receipt instantly. The payment webpage will also refresh itself to indicate the successful payment.

Sharing his thoughts on the launch, Mr Vinod Kannan, Chief Commercial Officer, Scoot, said,

“Scoot is thrilled to be the first airline in Singapore to allow payment via PayNow. We believe that travel is an innate need, and to enable more people to travel, we are always looking at ways to better serve the needs of different customers and provide them more options. Embracing digital technologies such as PayNow to ease flight booking and payment processes is one such example.”

However, one thing that you have to note is that the PayNow QR payment is only available for transactions that cost up to S$999 due to common limits adopted by banks. Hence, if you are booking flights for a family trip, this would not be the recommended mode of payment.

Launch promotion

Payment via PayNow will be officially launched during Scoot’s newly established “Got To Go” promotion, starting today. In line with the airline’s mission of enabling spontaneous travel and discovery, “Got To Go” replaces Scoot’s widely known weekly “Take Off Tuesday” promotion and speaks to customers’ innate aspirations to travel far, widely and spontaneously.

To celebrate the launch of “Got To Go”, Scoot will be offering a massive 70% off eligible economy fares to over 50 destinations, including Osaka, Ipoh, Bangkok, Manila, Hangzhou, Luang Prabang, Vientiane, Perth, Kaohsiung, and even to Athens and Berlin, only on 19 and 20 March! To view the destinations applicable for the promotion, customers can visit www.flyscoot.com/gtg or key in the promo code ‘GTGNOW’ when searching for their flights. This promotion is applicable on selected Scoot-operated flights for travel until 31 May 2019 for most destinations.

Customers also stand a chance to travel to their dream destination on Scoot by participating in our FlyScoot Facebook contest from 19 to 20 March 2019. Simply tell us what happens when your “Got To Go” urge gets the better of you and the best entry will win a return ticket to any destination of your choice!
