LG HomeBrew

CES 2019 is about a month away and technology companies are already raising expectations of what’s to come at the event.

Likewise, for the Korean technology giant, LG, they also have some tricks up their sleeves.

Just a few days ago, LG announced that they will be unveiling the LG HomeBrew. Though it sounds like a coffee machine, it’s actually a capsule-based craft beer-making machine.

Not sure if we will see it in Singapore, but the thought of it is enough to make beer-lovers drool.

According to LG, “With a set of single-use capsules – which contain malt, yeast, hop oil and flavouring – and the press of a button, users can relax as LG HomeBrew automates the whole procedure from fermentation, carbonation and to serving and cleaning.”

Yes. You heard it right. Cleaning.

Apparently, the machine will “automatically sanitise using nothing more than hot water, ensuring everything is hygienically cleaned for the next batch.”

The LG HomeBrew will also come with a free companion app for Android and iOS devices, which allows users to check the brewing status.

Like the capsule-based coffee-making machines, the LG HomeBrew comes with different flavours. Five to be exact.

It has the hoppy America IPA, golden American Pale Ale, full-bodied English Stout, zesty Belgian-style Witbier and Czech Pilsner.

Song Dae-hyun, President of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company said:

“LG HomeBrew is the culmination of years of home appliance and water purification technologies that we have developed over the decades. Homebrewing has grown at an explosive pace but there are still many beer lovers who haven’t taken the jump because of the barrier to entry and these are the consumers we think will be attracted to LG HomeBrew.”

CES 2019 will be held from 8 to 11 January 2019 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre. LG will showcase their products at booth #11100.
