Acer introduces the new Chromebook 11 at CES 2018

Acer has unveiled its new Chromebook 11 that promises strong performance, capable of lasting up to 10 hours of usage. The new introduction aims to provide consumers and their family members the flexibility of moving around in a shared space, and getting their work done.

The Acer Chromebook 11 has an 11.6-inch IPS screen with a 1,366 x 768 HD resolution, which comes in both touch or non-touch display. Powered by the latest Intel Celeron processors, the new addition to the Acer Chromebook line sports a 4GB of memory and 16GB/32GB of eMMC storage.

Boosting the portability of the device, the Chromebook 11 measures at only 18.15mm thin and weighs just 1.1kg. The removal of the fan in the laptop freed up some space for Acer to fit in two USB 3.0 ports and a MicroSD card reader, offering convenient and fast data transfer, charging and display output. Also, Acer managed to pack a high-dynamic range (HDR) camera, dual stereo speakers and an integrated microphone into the Chromebook 11.

The Chromebook, as the name suggests, runs on the ChromeOS, which consumers can expect easy access to the Google ecosystem including Google Drive, Gmail, Google Docs, etc. and access to millions of Android apps on Google Play.

James Lin, General Manager, Commercial & Detachable Notebooks, IT Products Business, Acer Inc, said:

“Chromebooks are widely known as a fast, easy and secure way to work and play both online and offline. Customers can play games, stay productive, enjoy the content and do even more with the new Acer Chromebook 11 thanks to its support of Google Play.”

With concerns about data security mounting year after year, the ChromeOS also offers additional security to safeguard consumers’ interest against online threats.

The Acer Chromebook 11 line (CB311-8HT/ CB311-8H) will be available in North America in April and EMEA in March at USD249 and €249 respectively.
