In the latest advisory released by the Singapore Computer Emergency Response Team (SingCERT), it stated that “a group of researchers have found critical vulnerabilities dubbed “Meltdown” and “Spectre“, which affect desktop computers, smartphones, tablets and cloud services.”
How do they work?
Meltdown lets attackers bypass security protection to access data that is stored on your operating system memory, and Spectre “tricks applications into leaking its data.”
If you are using AMD, ARM or Intel processors, you may want to keep a lookout for security patches listed on their websites to seal up vulnerabilities that allow attackers to steal data from your computer.
