Hotel Jen has unveiled two of their new hires, Jena and Jeno, to serve hotel guests in a smart way. The hotel is the first international hotel brand in Asia to engage autonomous Relay robots for their services.

Jena and Jeno are in charge of delivering amenities and local delights from the in-room dining menu to guests when an order is placed. Moving at 2.5km/h, approximately half of an average human walking speed, guests are expected to be serviced by one of the pairs within 15 minutes. The dynamic duo is able to navigate themselves around the hotel, take elevators and give guests a buzz when the service has arrived. They are also equipped with a “software system to track their to-do list once an order is placed.”

Mr Cetin Sekercioglu, Executive Vice President of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, said: “Hotel Jen is proud to be the first brand in the Shangri-La group to introduce this technology. The new “colleagues” will be great team players in getting important things done well and delivered in Jen’s distinctive style. Known to curate playful experiences, Hotel Jen, through the Relay robots, yet again proves that it can surprise and delight urban adventure-seekers,”

Jena and Jeno will be stationed in the hotel lobby of Hotel Jen Tanglin and Hotel Jen Orchard Gateway respectively 24 hours, seven days a week.

It is not the first time that Relay, the first fully-autonomous delivery robot, designed and built by Savioke, has been deployed to help with delivery demands. More than 70 environments such as logistics, hotels, office buildings and high rise apartments have benefited from the deployment of the robot.
