The Sony Xperia™ Family Expands: Introducing Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact and the Xperia XA1 Plus

Sony Mobile has introduced its latest members from its flagship Xperia™ family, the Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact and the Xperia XA1 Plus. These stunning and power-packed smartphones are a reflection of Sony’s renowned brand promise in providing users with top-notch audiovisual entertainment and photographic capabilities.

Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact

A striking feature in the Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact is the Motion Eye™ camera, which amazingly captures the tiniest detail that is not noticed by the naked eye. This camera is a result of decades of Sony innovation, and is built with the groundbreaking functions from the α™ and Cyber-shot™ ranges.

Expect to shoot some ultra-high quality breathtaking photos with a first-class 13-megapixel front camera, an Exmor™ RS image sensor and Autofocus, and sensational videos wherever and whenever by recording in 960 frames per second, providing stunning Super slow motion video playback[a].

And, remember those times when you have to take another shot because someone has unintentionally closed their eyes or was chasing a fly away from their face? Well, the new Predictive Capture gets you a step ahead by automatically buffering images when it detects an action or even a smile, before you press the shutter button. So you can find a moment you may have missed from a selection of up to four shots.

A breakthrough in smartphone features, the 3D Creator allows users to capture and share high-quality 3D scans of objects with four customisable modes; head, face, food and freeform. Scans can even be sent to a 3D printer to be printed as a memorable keepsake!

Rich colour and contrast is seen on the phones, thanks to Sony’s BRAVIA TV technology, and razor-sharp, detailed and brighter images are well-received with the HDR (High Dynamic Range) in a Full HD display, TRILUMINOS™ Display for mobile, X-Reality™ for mobile and Dynamic Contrast Enhancer.

For that super stellar sound, Sony packs the phones with High-Resolution Audio. Also, Sony’s DSEE HX lets users enjoy their favourite tunes and movies with or without headphones using the evolved stereo speakers with S-Force Front Surround, bringing you 50 per cent more sound pressure[b] than previous Xperia models. Plus the built-in Digital Noise Cancelling (DNC) technology reduces exterior noise by up to 98% when paired with DNC headphones for undisturbed listening.

The phones are powered by the cutting-edge Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 Mobile Platform with X16 LTE, which is designed to provide blazing fast Gigabit LTE downloads speeds (up to 1Gbps) and performance to enjoy a modern lifestyle whilst working or having fun. File transfers are also super-charged thanks to the USB 3.1 connection which is 10 times quicker than USB 2.0 with a transfer speed of up to 5Gbps.

The Xperia XA1 Plus is the all-in-one smartphone built with high-end camera specifications for supreme imaging. We’re talking 23MP high resolution with a large 1/2.3” Exmor™RS for mobile sensor, bright F2.0 lens, a Full HD display (5.5”) and crystal clear sound with ClearAudio+ Sony audio technology and Smart Amplifier.

Plus, you can snap your pictures in less than a second with the incredibly fast and accurate Hybrid Autofocus. And the 8MP 23mm wide-angle lens front camera ensures taking fuss-free Wefies and group shots.

Like the Xperia XZ1, the Xperia XA1 Plus comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor that recognises you intuitively for that added security. Quick charging is also supported to give you that boost of hours of power in just minutes of charging. Its power-efficient MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core processor will be providing a seamless experience whether you browse the web, watch a video or play your favourite game.

All three phones come with Stamina Mode, which extends the battery lifetime, as well as Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology and Battery Care work together to maintain the long-term health of the battery by monitoring its health and adjusting the charging current accordingly. The Smart Cleaner automatically deactivates unused app and clears the cache to give you the fastest, most optimised performance.

The Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact will make their entry globally from September 2017, operating on the Android™ 8.0 Oreo.

As for the Xperia XA1 Plus, it will roll out from Autumn 2017 in stunning colours of Gold, Blue and Black. Style Cover Stands will also be available in White and Black along with a range of complementary accessories including the new SBH24 Stereo Bluetooth® Headset, which allows you to enjoy music and talk wirelessly.

Do stay tuned to price updates here as soon as our local telcos make the announcements.
