Things are about to get speedy the next time you connect to the SingTel WiFi hotspots. This is because Ericsson and SingTel are working together to deploy small cell solutions to more than 100 locations across our sunny island, Singapore.

The small cells that will be deployed include Ericsson’s Radio Dot System (RDS) and next-generation micro radio 2203, 2205 and the RBS 6402. They will complement the existing network to “enable load balancing and peak performance through one single network management.”

According to Ericsson, with the deployment, SingTel customers will enjoy a seamless and enhanced mobile experience of up to 50 percent faster than existing surfing speeds in those high-traffic locations.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Ericsson is the connectivity partner for Stamford Bridge, the home stadium of the season 16/17 Premier League Champions, Chelsea Football Club. Fans are expected to have a much richer experience sharing their match day moments with no connectivity woes.
