Let’s take the attention away from the LG G6 for the time being because LG will be unveiling another phone at the Mobile World Congress 2017 later this month – the LG X power2.

Battery life

As the name of the phone suggests, the X power2 features a 4,500mAh battery. That’s battery powerful (get it? very powerful?).

LG said that when fully charged, this battery monster” can playback videos continuously for approximately 15 hours!” That’s more than enough for me to travel from Singapore to London. It can also last you about 14 hours when using it for navigation and 18 hours for web surfing, that is if you have enough 4G data to challenge the battery life.

Users can also expect extraordinary charging speed to keep up with their usage. LG has integrated a high-speed charging technology that can charge the battery of the X power2 to 50 percent in an hour, and a full charge in approximately two hours.

Size of X power2

The LG X power2 has a 5.5-inch HD In-cell Touch display that projects clear and vivid colours. The phone maker also added improvements to the phone’s outdoor display capability, making the screen more visible under the glaring sun.

LG does know what big phone users do with their phones, at least for users like me. The X power2 has a feature called Comfort View. It lowers the amount of blue light emission through the display that causes eye fatigue. So you and I can enjoy reading our ebooks comfortably for hours without feeling tired.

Camera

The X power2 has a 5 MP wide-angle camera that can take “wefies of up to eight people without a selfie stick,” said LG. I think it will be better to have a selfie stick so that the photos don’t come out too blurry. Based on the LG’s press release sent to us, I don’t think users will see any image stabilisation in this phone for the front and rear camera. Though so, the 13 MP rear camera does feature a Zero Shutter Lag function, which means that there won’t be any latency when taking photos that annoy tonnes of people – Sony users will understand this point. 😉

Verdict

Judging from the specifications, this is an above average smartphone packed with a lot of juice that could probably last users a good two to three days without a charge. If you want your next phone to be big, have a crazy huge battery capacity, have a good selfie camera and good selfie features, you can consider getting the X power2. If not, wait for the LG G6.

The LG X power2 will be out in Latin America in March and then to other key markets in the US, Asia, Europe and other regions. The pricing is still a secret and will only be announced when the X power2 is available.
