ASUS ROG Launches Cutting-Edge Strix Gaming Monitors with AI-Enhanced Visuals and Eco-Friendly Packaging

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has unveiled two innovative additions to their gaming monitor lineup—the ROG Strix XG27UCS and XG27ACS—geared towards enhancing the gaming experience with high-performance visuals and streamlined connectivity.

The XG27UCS features a 4K resolution at 160 Hz, while the XG27ACS offers 1440p at an impressive 180 Hz, both equipped with a 1 ms response time and NVIDIA® G-SYNC® compatibility to ensure smooth, tear-free gameplay.

A significant draw of these monitors is their incorporation of AI-driven GamePlus technology, which analyses gameplay scenes in real-time, adjusting on-screen crosshairs for improved accuracy, and Dynamic Shadow Boost that brightens dark areas without affecting brighter zones, thereby aiding visibility in low-light conditions. The monitors also boast ASUS’s proprietary Variable Overdrive 2.0 technology, dynamically adapting overdrive settings to changing frame rates for optimal visuals across 20 different levels.

Design-wise, the monitors come with a new stand featuring a smaller footprint and a dedicated groove for mobile devices, alongside USB-C® connectivity which facilitates a clutter-free gaming setup. Additionally, both models support HDR technology with DisplayHDR 400 certification, broadening their appeal with superior color performance and imagery.

Convenience and accessibility are key, with both monitors offering a range of connection options including DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and USB Type-C. ASUS’s DisplayWidget Center software enhances user experience by allowing settings adjustments via a mouse instead of traditional on-screen display menus. Each unit is also rigorously tested for color accuracy and performance, providing calibration reports accessible through the OSD menu.

In terms of availability, the ROG Strix XG27ACS is already on the market with a starting price of US$269, and the XG27UCS is set to hit shelves in mid-May 2024, priced at US$449 in the U.S., and S$649 in Singapore. Reflecting ROG’s commitment to environmental sustainability, both monitors are packaged using FSC Mix-certified materials, further broadening their appeal to eco-conscious consumers.
