A textured flat illustration in a warm, cozy editorial style. A small shopfront awning on one side and a laptop screen on the other, each releasing a thin stream of coin-like tokens that curve inward and merge into a single glowing channel flowing into one cash register at the centre, symbolising separate online and in-store payments becoming one unified stream. Single soft light source creating subtle shadows. Flat shapes with no 3D rendering. Thin consistent outlines. Mid-century modern illustration influence. Composition: Clear focal point, balanced layout, environmental details rendered simply. Generous negative space. 16:9 landscape. Mood: Calm, warm, relatable, editorial, lifestyle. Pine Labs and Stripe are rolling out a unified commerce platform for retailers in Singapore, letting eligible merchants run online and in-store payments through one system instead of two separate setups.

Key Takeaways
  • Pine Labs and Stripe’s joint offering lets eligible Singapore retailers process online and in-store payments on a single platform from November 2026.
  • Digital payment adoption in Singapore has reached 92 percent, according to PwC, while BCG found 39 percent of large merchants globally still use separate acquirers for online and offline sales.
  • Pine Labs’ digital infrastructure and transaction platform revenue grew 20.8 percent year-on-year in the September quarter, with mid-market digital checkout points up 49 percent.

Under the arrangement, which takes effect this month, merchants in Singapore can use Stripe to process online transactions while routing in-store card payments through Pine Labs’ network of point-of-sale terminals. It’s the first market where Stripe is offering this kind of combined setup, and the two companies plan to extend it to other parts of Southeast Asia in 2027.

Why Singapore’s retailers wanted this

The partnership responds to a fairly basic operational headache. Singapore’s digital payment adoption rate sits at 92 percent, according to PwC, which sounds like a solved problem until you look at how merchants actually run their back end. BCG’s 2026 Global Payments Report found that 39 percent of large merchants surveyed globally still rely on separate acquirers for their online and in-store transactions, which means two reconciliation processes, two sets of reporting, and very little shared view of how a customer behaves across channels.

That gap is what Pine Labs and Stripe are trying to close with this unified commerce setup in Singapore. It builds on Pine Labs’ own unified merchant platform, which launched in the country in October 2026, with Stripe’s online payment capabilities now layered on top.

What merchants get access to

Eligible retailers on the combined platform will be able to:

  • Cut down on reconciliation work and the operational overhead of managing separate payment stacks
  • Offer multi-issuer instalment plans, pay-by-points options, and merchant-funded promotions
  • Use Pine Labs’ marketing tools to run instant discounts and cross-border campaigns
  • Accept credit cards, QR codes, and contactless payments across Pine Labs’ range of terminal types

“Retailers no longer think of e-commerce and physical stores as separate channels. They expect a connected view of payments, customer engagement and business performance across every touchpoint. By combining Stripe’s online capabilities with our in-store commerce ecosystem, we are helping merchants simplify operations while creating more personalised and rewarding customer experiences,” said B Amrish Rau, CEO of Pine Labs.

Pine Labs’ numbers are climbing too

The timing lines up with strong growth at Pine Labs itself. Revenue from its digital infrastructure and transaction platform segment rose 20.8 percent year-on-year in the September quarter, and digital checkout points in its mid-market segment grew 49 percent over the same period. Those figures give some indication of why the company is pushing further into combined online-offline offerings rather than treating them as separate product lines.

Pine Labs and Stripe are set to present the unified commerce solution at the Singapore Fintech Festival 2026, where both companies will be looking to line up more retailers ahead of the planned Southeast Asia rollout next year.
