Genie Health, a Singapore-based AI health tech company, has closed a US$3 million seed round to grow its two-sided health intelligence platform for individuals and healthcare providers.

The round was led by the Nadathur Family Office, with participation from Liminal, a Founders’ Studio backed by Temasek, as well as two seasoned healthcare leaders investing alongside them. Anand Nadathur, Principal of the Nadathur Family Office, will join Genie Health‘s board of directors.

The funding will deepen the platform’s AI capabilities, accelerate adoption of Genie SmartCare among clinics, and grow the team’s product, engineering and healthcare expertise in Singapore.

“This funding will enable us to scale both the Genie app and SmartCare faster, while deepening our platform capabilities to build out our vision of a two-sided health intelligence platform,” said Hari V. Krishnan, co-founder and CEO of Genie Health.

A health app for individuals, an AI tool for clinics

The platform spans two products. Genie is a personal health app that brings together health reports, lab results, wearable data, connected health devices and family health history into a secure “Health Locker”, surfacing personalised insights and guiding members on what to do next. Members retain control of their health data at all times.

Genie SmartCare is a clinic intelligence platform that uses agentic AI to engage patients around the clock, handling appointment and follow-up bookings while combining longitudinal health records and wearable data to give care teams a fuller picture of every patient. Providers retain complete oversight throughout.

Addressing Singapore’s rising chronic disease burden

One in three Singapore residents deal with at least one chronic condition, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or glucose management, according to the Ministry of Health’s National Population Health Survey 2024. As Singapore’s population ages, rising chronic disease prevalence is increasing demand for preventive care and adding to primary care teams’ workload – a gap Genie Health says its platform is designed to close on both sides of the patient-provider relationship.

“Members tell us they have more health information than ever, but still struggle to understand what it means for them and what to do next,” said Hari. “Every person’s health journey is different. General advice from friends and social media can only go so far. Genie brings your health information together to create a personalised health companion that understands your unique physiology, helps you make informed choices and guides you towards becoming the healthiest version of yourself.”

“Healthcare teams want more time to understand their patients and support them prior to and beyond the consultation, but routine administrative demands can get in the way,” said Maya Hari, co-founder and chair of Genie Health. “SmartCare combines automated patient engagement with a fuller picture of each patient’s health journey, helping providers make every interaction more informed and personal.”

Backers point to founders’ track record

“We back founders who are capable, committed, and aligned with our values for the long term. The Genie Health team brings all of that, along with deep experience building consumer platforms across Asia. They’re applying it to a space where technology can genuinely improve how people engage with their own health,” said Anand Nadathur, Principal of the Nadathur Family Office.

“Genie Health’s founding team brings a strong track record of building and growing technology businesses. We see a compelling opportunity for AI to help individuals and healthcare providers make better use of fragmented health information, and believe Genie Health is well positioned to address that need,” said Philip Chan, Senior Builder at Liminal.

Founders with experience scaling regional tech

Genie Health was co-founded by Hari V. Krishnan, Maya Hari and Sandeep Suvarna, who each bring deep experience building and scaling consumer and enterprise technology businesses globally.
