Check Point Software Technologies has released its 2026 Cloud Security Report, finding that 77% of organisations updated their AI security strategy but only 26% have the architecture to enforce it.
A 51-Point Enforcement Gap
The report found AI is changing how users behave and where threats enter the environment faster than security teams can respond. 78% of organisations reported confirmed or suspected AI-related security incidents over the past year, while attackers are using AI to accelerate phishing and malware generation.
“AI adoption has outpaced the architecture built to govern it. Agents are acting inside live systems and most enterprises still lack the visibility and enforcement to keep pace.” – Paul Barbosa, VP Cloud Security and SASE, Check Point
Key Findings
52% of AI workloads span hybrid environments, yet 64% say their architecture needs redesign. Only 24% can inspect AI traffic without performance impact. 88% say AI increased security complexity. 48% cite non-human identities like AI agents and APIs as a top risk. 24% have no AI-specific access controls at all.
Check Point’s Response
Check Point’s newly launched Agentic Network Security Orchestration Platform lets AI agents handle policy creation, Zero Trust enforcement, and compliance autonomously across hybrid environments. The company posted a 99.8% security effectiveness score in the 2026 Miercom report and protects more than 100,000 organisations worldwide.
