Indeed has expanded its ChatGPT integration to Singapore and more than 50 other countries, allowing job seekers to search for roles and access employer information directly within OpenAI‘s ChatGPT interface using natural language prompts.

The Indeed App in ChatGPT, which launched in the United States earlier this year, is now available via the ChatGPT Apps directory or by tagging @Indeed in a prompt. Users who connect their Indeed profile receive personalised job recommendations based on saved preferences and work history. The integration does not replace Indeed’s main platform — applying for roles, scheduling interviews, and employer engagement remain on the Indeed website and mobile app.

How the integration works

Job seekers can initiate a search using conversational queries — for example, asking for remote marketing roles that match specific skills. The app draws on Indeed’s matching technology, which the company says analyses more than 140 million daily hiring signals across its database of 645 million job seeker profiles. Beyond listings, users can request company overviews and employee ratings within the chat session before deciding whether to apply.

AI as a job discovery layer, not a hiring platform

The announcement illustrates a pattern emerging across enterprise and consumer AI: using large language model interfaces as a discovery and personalisation layer on top of existing platforms, rather than replacing them. Indeed is explicit that the ChatGPT integration is positioned as a new entry point into its marketplace, not a substitute for the structured hiring workflow on its core platform.

Indeed, a subsidiary of Japan’s Recruit Holdings, says it has invested in proprietary AI matching for over two decades. The ChatGPT integration represents its latest collaboration with OpenAI, extending the reach of its job marketplace into one of the most widely used AI interfaces globally.
