GITEX AI ASIA returns to Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on 9–10 April 2026 for its second edition, drawing technology leaders, investors, and startups from over 110 countries as Asia’s artificial intelligence and quantum computing sectors enter a pivotal phase.

Asia’s AI and Quantum Momentum

Regional AI spending across Asia-Pacific is projected to reach US$78 billion by 2026, according to IDC, reflecting accelerating enterprise and government deployment across healthcare, financial services, and public infrastructure. Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia together host some of the world’s largest data centre clusters, with the region expected to account for 40% of global data capacity by 2030.

Singapore’s position within this landscape is particularly prominent. The city-state produces approximately 15% of the world’s semiconductors and is home to leading AI research institutions. In March 2026, it launched a new quantum research and development centre aimed at advancing industrial quantum applications and expanding the region’s intellectual property base.

Key speakers include Kotaro Tamura, Japan’s Former Senator and Vice Minister for Fiscal and Economic Policy, who will address how Asia can consolidate its AI leadership amid geopolitical fragmentation. Ken Lin, CEO and Co-Founder of Aires Applied Quantum Technologies — developer of Southeast Asia’s first Post-Quantum Cryptography patents — will speak on balancing commercial deployment with governance and long-term resilience.

North Star Asia Spotlights Emerging Startups

The event will also host North Star Asia, a regional edition of the global startup showcase Expand North Star. More than 300 startups from 50-plus countries — including 65 award-winning companies and over 20 unicorns — will present solutions across healthcare, manufacturing, and mobility.

Notable showcases include UK-based Literal Labs, which claims its logic-based AI architecture delivers high performance at 50 times lower energy consumption than conventional systems. China’s Timekettle will unveil bone-induction interpreter earbuds with real-time multilingual translation, while Japan’s Lifescapes presents a non-invasive Brain-Computer Interface for stroke rehabilitation.
