Google Launches Pixel 10a With AI Features in Singapore

Google has launched the Pixel 10a, bringing its artificial intelligence tools and upgraded camera system to a more affordable smartphone segment.

The Pixel 10a starts at $799 and will be available from March 5 through the Google Store and major carriers. The device runs on the company’s custom-built Google Tensor G4 processor, which powers a range of AI features built around the Gemini assistant.

Google said the Pixel 10a is designed to deliver flagship-level capabilities, including AI-powered photography tools and long-term software support, at a lower price point.

AI Features Expand To Mid-Range Smartphones

A key focus of the Pixel 10a is its integration with Gemini, Google’s AI assistant.

Users can interact with Gemini through Gemini Live, which allows natural, conversational queries with the device. Other AI-powered features include Circle to Search, enabling users to learn more about items on their screen by circling or tapping them.

The phone also includes call-management tools such as Call Screen and Hold For Me, designed to filter spam calls and handle waiting queues on behalf of users.

Camera And Photo Editing Tools

The Pixel 10a features a 48-megapixel main camera paired with a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera, which Google says delivers the best camera experience in the under-$800 segment.

Photography features include Macro Focus for close-up shots and Night Sight for low-light photography.

New AI-driven photo tools are also arriving on the A-series for the first time. Auto Best Take analyses multiple frames to combine the best facial expressions in group photos, while Camera Coach provides step-by-step guidance on lighting and composition.

Users can also edit photos in Google Photos using natural language prompts or voice commands, enabling AI-assisted changes without manual editing.

Design, Durability And Battery

The Pixel 10a introduces a refined design with a flat back panel and a camera bar that blends into the rear of the device.

The phone comes in Lavender, Berry, Fog and Obsidian colour options. Google said sustainability was also a design priority, with the device using recycled materials including cobalt, copper, gold and tungsten. The frame is made from 100 per cent recycled aluminium, while the back cover contains 81 per cent recycled plastic.

The smartphone carries IP68 water and dust resistance and features Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for improved durability.

Its 6.3-inch Actua display is around 11 per cent brighter than its predecessor, according to Google.

Battery life is rated at more than 30 hours, or up to 120 hours when Extreme Battery Saver is enabled. The Pixel 10a will also receive seven years of operating system and security updates, along with regular Pixel feature updates.

For emergencies, the device introduces Satellite SOS support to the A-series lineup, allowing users to contact emergency services when mobile or Wi-Fi networks are unavailable.

The Pixel 10a is now available via the Google Store and major carriers. Google is also releasing new phone cases matching the device’s colours and introducing updated Pixel Buds 2a earbuds in Berry and Fog to complement the smartphone.
