The BMW M2 will gain a new M Performance Track Kit from July 2026, as BMW expands its range of factory-backed upgrades for track day enthusiasts. The road-legal package is designed to sharpen handling and increase aerodynamic performance while remaining compliant with German regulations.
Priced at €23,500 (plus tax) in Germany, excluding installation, the BMW M2 M Performance Track Kit adds adjustable aero components and a motorsport-derived suspension system developed with BMW M specialists.
Track-Focused Aero With Road Approval
The BMW M2 Track Kit introduces a manually adjustable front splitter integrated with the front diffuser. Wheel arch diffusers and a scoop under the engine oil cooler complement the setup. BMW says the splitter and diffuser combination increases downforce, while additional aero flicks improve front-end grip.
At the rear, a manually adjustable swan-neck wing — similar in concept to those used on the BMW M4 GT4 and BMW M4 GT3 — can be set to two angles to optimise rear-axle downforce depending on circuit layout. In “Race Mode”, the wing shifts 50mm rearwards to enhance aerodynamic effectiveness. In “Street Mode”, it retracts to comply with Germany’s Road Traffic Licensing Regulation (StVZO).
The rear wing also integrates a brake light, a feature more commonly associated with race cars.
BMW states that all aerodynamic components were tested in its wind tunnel and fine-tuned by Jörg Weidinger, a BMW M test engineer responsible for chassis development.
Adjustable Chassis And Motorsport Dampers
The BMW M2 M Performance Track Kit also includes a threaded suspension system with four-way adjustable rebound and compression damping, adjustable support bearings and what BMW describes as its first road-legal special motorsport damper system.
Ride height can be lowered by up to 20mm at both the front and rear, with infinitely variable adjustment. The components were developed in collaboration with BMW M engineers drawing on experience from customer racing programmes.
Track days — non-competitive sessions held on closed circuits — have grown in popularity among performance car owners in Europe and Asia. Carmakers have responded with factory-developed upgrades aimed at drivers seeking higher limits without turning to aftermarket modifications.
BMW M2 CS Adds M Performance Exhaust

Separately, the limited-run BMW M2 CS will be offered with a new M Performance exhaust system.
The BMW M2 CS produces 390 kW (530 hp) from a six-cylinder in-line engine with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology. BMW says the new exhaust system features optimised gas routing and selectable sound modes to deliver a more pronounced engine note.
The system is around 8kg lighter than the standard exhaust and features optional carbon and titanium tailpipe trims. Pricing in Germany starts at €8,343.50, excluding installation.
BMW’s latest M Performance Parts underline the growing demand for manufacturer-approved track upgrades that retain road legality — a key consideration in markets such as Germany and Singapore, where vehicle modifications are tightly regulated.
The BMW M2 M Performance Track Kit will be available from July 2026. Pricing outside Germany has not been announced. Availability of the M Performance exhaust system for the BMW M2 CS may vary by market.
