Xiaomi has unveiled its flagship Xiaomi 17 Series in Singapore, led by the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and a new Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi, as the company deepens its imaging partnership with Leica.

The Xiaomi 17 Series focuses on mobile photography, introducing a 1-inch main camera sensor on the Ultra model and a 200-megapixel telephoto system co-developed with Leica. Prices in Singapore start at S$1,249.

Leica Partnership Upgraded for Xiaomi 17 Series

Xiaomi said its collaboration with Leica has been elevated from a joint research and development framework to a “strategic co-creation model”, covering hardware, software and imaging experience.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features Xiaomi’s first 1-inch LOFIC main camera sensor, branded Light Fusion 1050L, designed to improve full-well capacity and high dynamic range (HDR) performance. It is paired with a Leica 200MP 75–100mm telephoto camera offering mechanical optical zoom and up to a 400mm equivalent focal length via sensor technology.

Video capabilities include 4K recording at up to 120 frames per second on both the main and telephoto cameras, with Dolby Vision and ACES Log support.

The standard Xiaomi 17, positioned as a more compact flagship, uses a Light Fusion 950 image sensor and a Leica 60mm floating telephoto lens. It supports 4K 60fps Dolby Vision recording and features a new 50MP front camera.

Marking Leica’s 100th anniversary, the companies also introduced the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi. The device incorporates a Leica Camera Ring — a physical dial designed to replicate the feel of a traditional zoom camera — and an “Essential mode” that recreates the image style of classic Leica cameras including the Leica M9 and Leica M3 with MONOPAN 50 film.

Displays reach up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and support a 1–120Hz LTPO refresh rate. The Ultra model debuts Xiaomi’s HyperRGB OLED panel with a redesigned subpixel layout aimed at improving clarity and power efficiency.
