Digital travel platform Agoda has launched the Property AMA (“Ask Me Anything”) Bot, an AI-powered chatbot that provides real-time answers to travellers’ hotel-specific questions.
The chatbot, developed using a connection between Agoda’s systems and ChatGPT enriched with live property data, is designed to cut through lengthy descriptions and reviews, offering quick responses to queries such as “Is parking available?” or “What’s the quality of the breakfast?”.
Over 30,000 questions answered daily
Following a successful soft launch, the Property AMA Bot has already been handling more than 30,000 hotel-related questions per day, according to Agoda. Millions of users visit the platform daily to browse accommodation options, compare amenities and secure bookings.
Previously, travellers could contact hotel owners directly through Agoda’s messaging system, but replies varied in speed and consistency. The new AI chatbot aims to improve the process by delivering instant and reliable information across all Agoda platforms, including desktop, mobile web and app.
Building trust through instant answers
“Helping travellers get the answers they need, when they need them, is central to building trust in our platform and delivering even more value to customers,” said Idan Zalzberg, Chief Technology Officer at Agoda. “The Property AMA Bot reduces uncertainty by answering questions instantly, which in turn leads to a smoother, more satisfying booking experience.”
A step towards smarter booking
Agoda said the launch marks a significant step in enhancing user confidence and personalising the booking journey. By making hotel information more accessible, the company hopes to streamline the path from browsing to booking.
The Singapore-based platform currently offers access to over five million holiday properties, 130,000 flight routes and 300,000 activities worldwide.
