Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has opened a new AI-powered Research & Innovation Centre in Singapore, aimed at accelerating digital transformation and strengthening the city-state’s position as a regional tech powerhouse.

Located at Changi Business Park within TCS’ Asia Pacific headquarters, the facility is designed to drive co-innovation in artificial intelligence, bringing together businesses, startups, academia and technology partners to develop AI-driven solutions for real-world challenges.

The centre was officially launched in the presence of Minister of State for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan, reinforcing the alignment of the initiative with Singapore’s Smart Nation vision and ambitions to become a digital-first economy.

The hub will focus on developing AI solutions across key sectors, including public services, green manufacturing and supply chain optimisation. It also aims to boost talent development by equipping graduates with in-demand digital skills, while supporting startups and building a future-ready workforce.

“We welcome TCS’ new AI-powered Research and Innovation Centre to Singapore’s growing and vibrant innovation ecosystem,” said Jermaine Loy, Managing Director of the Economic Development Board (EDB). “The centre’s focus on helping local businesses accelerate their digital transformation and training graduates… aligns with Singapore’s push for AI to be used responsibly to boost productivity and competitiveness.”

The Singapore hub is part of the TCS Pace™ global innovation network, joining centres in New York, Amsterdam, London, and Tokyo. According to the company, the new facility will serve as a springboard for cross-border collaboration across these locations.
