Leica Unveils the Latest Generation SL3: A Leap in Mirrorless Full-Frame Technology

Leica Camera AG has announced the launch of the Leica SL3, the newest iteration in its esteemed SL-System, marking a significant advancement in the blend of photography and videography technologies. Since its inception in 2015, the SL-System has been at the forefront of combining exceptional image quality, manufacturing standards, and user-friendly designs, courtesy of Leica’s continuous engagement with the photographic community.

The Leica SL3 emerges as a paradigm of versatility, meeting and exceeding the rigorous standards set by professional photographers. It boasts an impressive array of features, including a more compact and lightweight design, enhanced user interface, and innovative technological advancements, making it a standout model in the mirrorless full-frame camera market.

Central to the SL3’s prowess is its BSI CMOS full-frame sensor equipped with Triple Resolution Technology, allowing photographers to capture images in 60, 36, or 18 MP resolutions. This versatility ensures that the full sensor surface is utilized, catering to a broad spectrum of photographic needs. With an expanded dynamic range of 15 stops and an ISO range stretching from 50 to 100,000, the SL3 promises extraordinary image quality across all lighting conditions.

A revolutionary autofocus system integrates phase detection, depth mapping, and contrast recognition technologies to deliver unparalleled sharpness, even in challenging lighting. The camera also features intelligent subject recognition, further enhancing its capability to capture dynamic scenes with precision.

The SL3’s new tiltable 3-inch high-resolution touchscreen, featuring a high-quality tilting mechanism, offers photographers novel perspectives and viewing angles. Furthermore, the camera’s design incorporates the L-Mount standard, allowing the use of an extensive range of exceptional lenses from Leica’s camera systems.

User comfort has been a primary focus in the development of the SL3, evident in its refined grip, button layout, and intuitive handling. The camera introduces a user interface with streamlined icons and menus, simplifying navigation and operation. A color-coded system distinguishes photo and video modes for ease of use.

Leica has also introduced the BP-SCL6 battery and an optional double charger, facilitating faster and simultaneous charging of two batteries. Additional accessories, including a new handgrip, DC coupler for continuous power, and specially designed carrying straps, underscore Leica’s commitment to meeting professional photography needs.

Priced at S$10,400.00, the Leica SL3 is available from 7th March 2024 at official Leica Singapore Stores, the Leica Online Store, and authorized dealers.
