Singapore-based law firm Allen & Gledhill (A&G) has teamed up with global application development firm OutSystems to upgrade its employee mobile application. The new A&G App digitises legacy processes and streamlines workflows and processes, providing a range of corporate services and real-time updates. The app, which was developed on the OutSystems high-performance low-code platform, will improve operational efficiency and employee engagement, allowing A&G’s teams to focus on providing better value for clients. The app also helps the company modernise and remain competitive in the hybrid working era by bolstering its digital infrastructure.
The previous employee e-services were hosted on on-premise servers and were limited to use via the company’s intranet. The new cloud-based application provides the firm’s 800 employees in Singapore with access to a wide range of services and office management functions via their mobile devices and web browsers. The app’s features include Covid-19 declaration forms, staff directories, company events calendars, employee e-Namecards, internal electric vehicle bookings, and a meeting room reservation system.
A&G’s IT team developed the mobile application with OutSystems in six months, utilising the high-performance low-code technology to efficiently deploy web-based and mobile applications on the cloud. OutSystems’ infrastructure and educational resources also reduced the overheads for A&G’s lean development team, offering easy-to-understand licensing models and application hosting, and reducing development learning curves.
Darren Chan, Head of IS at A&G, said the company’s digital transformation strategy was designed to improve internal system infrastructure, employee workflows and client touchpoints, ultimately enhancing the overall client experience. The IT team also has a roadmap in place to redevelop legacy workflows and new digital workflows to replace manual processes.
