D2L launches D2L Fusion 2020 as a six-month free virtual series, catering to school, higher education, and corporate learning audiences worldwide

The Role of Digital Gig Workers in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

SINGAPORE, 28th July 2020: A global leader in edtech software and technology, Canada-based D2L has launched D2L Fusion 2020—a six-month free virtual experience series aimed at bringing together educators and learning leaders from around the world to share ideas on driving progress and better outcomes for learners with best practices in the field of education technology.

Traditionally a three-day conference, this year the event is spread across six months, with presentations happening three consecutive days every month, four hours a day till the month of December.

Kickstarted on 20th July, with a keynote speech by John Baker, D2L’s President and CEO, the event series already has over 5600 registrations from all over the world. Covering a wide range of topics from accessible and affordable learning with tech to leveraging learning management systems for better customer value, these sessions will benefit learners from the corporate as well as education sectors.

By users, for users

The key highlight of this virtual series is that this is a user conference, so attendees will get insights based on practical experiences of existing users of D2L’s flagship product— the Brightspace LMS. With features like gaming engine, adaptive learning, video management, intelligent agents, templated interactives for course design, full support for outcomes or competency-based learning, and actionable learning analytics, the Brightspace LMS is more than just a traditional Learning Management System (LMS).

To facilitate the exchange of information among attendees, D2L Fusion 2020 programme also has a peer-to-peer engagement forum, called the ‘Peer to Peer Lounge’, where attendees who choose to share their information, can be looked up and a one-on-one meeting can be arranged.

Insights from stakeholders and users from all over the world

With the ongoing pandemic and movement restrictions, the event has gone entirely online to ensure the safety of panellists and attendees. The virtual sessions will be held on the following dates in the coming months: August 10th-12th, September 21st-23rd, October 19th-21st, November 16th-18th and December 7th-9th. Audiences in the APAC region will have access to recordings of live sessions happening in July and August with specific sessions for the region scheduled September onwards.

“Fusion is our flagship annual user conference and this year, we are reaching out to a global audience by going entirely virtual. With online sessions, we are able to facilitate participation from across the globe, enabling educators and trainers to exchange valuable insights and knowledge during these unprecedented times where more than ever, unity amongst educators is key,” shared Nick Hutton, Regional Director for Asia at D2L.

Interested audiences can join the programme at any time. Register now to get updates and notifications on the upcoming APAC sessions. Post-registration, you will also have access to all recorded sessions to view on-demand.
