Netflix has announced that the streaming giant now provides High Dynamic Range (HDR) support to both the Edge browser and the Netflix app on Windows 10.

With HDR support, users can enjoy a significant bump in colours, brightness and contrast when they watch their favourite dramas or movies on Netflix.

Netflix said that “they currently have over 200 hours of HDR entertainment (on their streaming service), and in 2018 even more HDR PCs will enter the market and support the growing number of Netflix originals.”

According to the blog post, the successful integration of HDR support is due to the collaboration with Intel, where its “7th generation and higher CPU provide the capability needed to play Netflix HDR10 encodes.
