Demand for cybersecurity jobs in Singapore has rebounded after two years of muted growth, driven by rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and renewed corporate focus on digital security, according to new data from job platform Indeed.

Cybersecurity job postings on Indeed rose 57 per cent from 2024 to 2025, reversing the stagnation of previous years. Postings had grown 9 per cent between 2023 and 2024, following an 8 per cent dip from 2022 to 2023. Indeed said the latest surge reflects stronger hiring activity across industries integrating AI tools into daily operations.

Job seeker interest has also strengthened sharply. Clicks on cybersecurity roles increased 77 per cent in 2025, contributing to a nearly 140 per cent rise in total clicks over the three-year period from 2022 to 2025.

“As companies integrate AI into everyday operations, they’re also realising the need for stronger defences,” said Indeed spokesperson Shannon Peter Pang. “Cybersecurity has evolved from a back-end function to a core part of business resilience.”

AI-driven risks reshape demand

The rapid uptake of AI across sectors — from finance to logistics — has expanded companies’ digital attack surfaces. Indeed’s data shows rising demand for candidates who can secure AI systems, manage data governance frameworks, and mitigate emerging threats such as model poisoning and deepfake manipulation.

Analysts expect this wave of AI-enabled risks to shape cybersecurity hiring over the next several years. Research firm IDC projects Asia-Pacific cybersecurity spending to increase from US$44.4 billion in 2025 to US$60.6 billion by 2028, signalling continued investment in enterprise defences.

Key roles and skills in focus

The most sought-after cybersecurity jobs in Singapore include cybersecurity engineers, specialists, analysts, consultants and architects. Employers are prioritising communication skills, familiarity with security standards such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) framework and ISO 27001, and programming capabilities in Python.

Indeed said the combination of technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration is becoming increasingly important as companies weave security into broader digital transformation strategies.

Competitive salaries despite sector pressure

While cybersecurity salaries have softened in parts of the tech industry, pay for experienced professionals remains comparatively strong. The average annual base salary for a cybersecurity architect in Singapore is about S$129,765, significantly higher than the S$55,761 average for an AI architect, based on Indeed’s data. The gap reflects sustained demand from sectors with stringent data protection requirements, including finance, telecommunications and government.

Analysts say the hiring recovery indicates that organisations are preparing to expand security teams through 2026, especially as new data protection rules and digitalisation programmes take effect across the region.

Indeed expects cybersecurity jobs in Singapore to remain a strategic hiring priority through 2026 and beyond, supported by long-term digitalisation, intensifying AI adoption and evolving regulatory requirements. The company added that both employer demand and job-seeker interest suggest a stable pipeline for cybersecurity roles in the coming years.
