Creating passwords is the most pain in the butt thing ever. Almost every site providing a form of service requires you to create a unique password. But this article is not about guiding you on how to write your password. On the contrary, this article is to inform you on the passwords that you should avoid because they are just too idiot-proof. Hackers are smarter than that. Come on.

According to Keeper Security, the worst password of 2016 was… *drum roll, please*

123456

In this era, let’s not blame just the users for setting such a ridiculous password. Let’s blame it on the websites that still allow the creation of such passwords too. Maybe creating an alphanumerical password is a pain for your users or perhaps adding the function into your codes is beyond your technical skills, whatever it is, just do it.

In case you are wondering what’s second and third:

Anyway, if you want to find out what are the rest of the most common passwords, head over to the Keeper Security for more shocking truth.

By the way, Happy Lunar New Year to my friends celebrating the Chinese Festival. For the rest, happy holidays!
